About me

My name is Barry Walsh. I’m a freelance IT consultant from London, UK who specialises in Perl programming.

My areas of “so called” expertise are….

  • data munging with Perl
  • building systems with Linux/UNIX
  • managing data with PostgreSQL
  • developing web apps with Catalyst / Rails / Squatting
  • occasionally I squeeze in a bit of systems analysis/project management if I get bored!

In between being husband & father I spend my spare time playing with my Apple Mac

Hey Barry, I really dig your blog, definitely adding to my list of ones to check out daily. Always nice to find content worth reading in blogs.

    Hi Matthew,

    Many thanks for you comments.

My intention was to update the blog weekly but I’m falling short of that at the moment. The problem isn’t content but time! Pretty much everything on my blog is documenting something I’ve already done. I have half a dozen or so other historic things I wish to blog about. On top of that I have a dozen or so things I would like to do & blog about 😉

Hi, I have a couple jobs that I would like to advertise on your site or via an email list to inform your readers about Perl programming jobs. Please get back to me as soon as you get a chance.

Look forward to hearing from you.
